QUEST recognized for important community role
QUEST Inc. 801 Stanley Street Schenectady, New York 12307
QUEST’s work within Hamilton Hill and its proven dedication to Schenectady
County youth has helped the group build a strong reputation among community
leaders, police and education officials. Now QUEST’s efforts have been
recognized by a national group, as well: America’s Promise.
America’s Promise named QUEST an America’s Promise, Site of Promise. The
distinction recognizes the important role QUEST plays in providing five key
benefits to children. Those benefits, identified by America’s Promise as “The
Five Promises,” include:
• Caring Adults
• Safe Places
• Healthy Start
• Effective Education
• Opportunity To Make A Difference
“Being named an America’s Promise, Site of Promise shows that QUEST is a
safe and healthy place for kids to be. We focus on education, health and
responsibility initiatives that teach children to lead happy, healthy and
productive lives,” explains QUEST executive director, Judy Atchinson. “We’re
grateful to America’s Promise for acknowledging that and we’re proud to be
affiliated with their organization.”
QUEST is a not-for-profit group dedicated to helping the most troubled youth of
Schenectady’s Hamilton Hill. There are more than 175 QUEST kids and the
group never turns a child away.
America’s Promise is a national group that works with government, non-profits,
businesses and communities to give all children five essential resources:
Caring adults, safe places, a healthy start, effective education and
opportunities to help others.
